Story

Established in June 2020 following the murder of George Floyd, Ride For Unity is a Global Cycling Community that celebrates the unity & diversity within cycling.

Our aim is to use representation as a tool to encourage people of all shades, sexes, sizes and sexual orientation to participate in cycling.

Everyone is welcome no matter who you are, no matter where you are, together we ride.

The group encourages participation through hosting virtual rides on Zwift, a chat show (insta live / podcast) and outdoor rides.

In August 2020, with the support of our amazing ambassadors, we rode together in LA, London, South Africa, New York, Yorkshire and Edinburgh.

In July 2021 a group of us took part in the fantastic Grinduro Wales ride breaking boundaries and pushing our limits off-road.

As conditions permit we plan to do more to bring people together.

As a global community we believe that the sport of cycling can be a vehicle for promoting equity whilst celebrating inclusion and diversity. This vision aligns with the amazing work that the Laureus Sport For Good Foundation does to support children and young people globally.

We are proud to contribute to the Foundation's work through donations and proceeds from the sale of Ride For Unity cycling clothing.

If you’d like to support the cause you can purchase clothing or donate through the links at the bottom of this page. 20% of all clothing sales goes directly to the work that Laureus does.

Charlotte Hartwell, Ride Leader

Tuesday Zwift Ride Leader.
Charlotte (she/her) is an overly ambitious adventure cyclist turned mobile snack wagon who tries to cram as much riding in as possible whilst rearing two small humans and working in ICT.

She has plans on racing in the future but for now will settle for a good group ride. Charlotte can often be found in the middle of a field after thinking “that path looks interesting” and is happiest when in the middle of nowhere smelling of wood smoke with nettle stings up her legs!
